The Book of the Earth
PRICE $15.00
The Book of the Earth

January 1, 2000, a Shinto monk fresh off the plane from Japan delivers an ancient, world-saving scroll to the United Nations, only to discover that on January 1, the UN is closed. Wise in the ways of the universe but unschooled in the ways of New York, the monk, the most balanced man in the city, manages to attract all the most-distracted, least-balanced people around: the metaphysical makeup artist with the ticking biological clock, the suicidal Swiss dwarf dog-walker with dreams of world hegemony. The metaphysical makeup artist who worships astronauts and believes that the monk has come to be the father of her children …

The ancient scroll at the center of hilarious and politically incorrect novel actually exists. This little-known document, called the Book of the Earth, is in the hands of a Japanese priesthood in Isohara, Japan, and is meant to be released “when things on the planet cannot get much worse.” Author Jeff Gross asks, “How much worse does it have to get?” His novel is, at least in part, an attempt to provoke this release.

Jeff Gross is the author of thirty-three screenplays, several with Roman Polanski, including “Frantic” and “Bitter Moon.” He is also a playwright and film maker in his own right. An American citizen, he has lived in Europe most of the last twenty-five years, where he indulges a passion for languages, mythology and oriental medicine.

Informed Body: The Five Guide
PRICE $15.00
Informed Body | The 5 Guide

For years Jill Harris' clients asked her for recommendations on health-related topics. During that time, they also provided her with hours of entertainment with their comments, questions and quirks. So she wrote and published a book not just for them, but for their friends as well so they could explain the world they experience at the Pilates studio she owns and runs. "Informed Body is not just a movement studio, but a community of people who share the common goal of well-being," she explains. (more)
